A little knowledge is a dangerous thing – The experts attacking the multicopter industry

A little knowledge is a dangerous thing Last week saw the House of Lords EU Committee make recommendations on drones, including making some recommendations for processes that already exist in the UK.  For example the CAA already has a list of business and professional users that have been granted permission for aerial work. The BBC report was one in particular that was distributed via social media such as Twitter. Hardly a month goes by without a media report with inaccuracies and […]

Personal “No Fly Zones” Are Giving In To The Tin Foil Hat Brigade

We’ve tried to ignore the fundamentally flawed and unnecessary website www.noflyzone.org in the hope it would be seen for what it is, potentially a money making exercise simply feeding off media hysteria, paranoia, false assumptions and the fact society is full of NIMBYs. Colin Guinn announces droneshare.com

This week www.creativelive.com has been running some live broadcasts from the drone/UAV industry.  Last night Colin Guinn was speaking about 3D Robotics products and developments in his first public online appearance (that we know of) since his departure from DJI. An interesting announcement made by Colin was the website www.droneshare.com that will show people’s flights online using their telemetry log files. Already DJI owners have a similar facility via a product called Flytrex, albeit that’s at an extra cost, whereas […]
