Yesterday GoPro launched their long awaited GoPro quadcopter drone, called the Karma. In the UK, Karma is launched on the 23rd October with a retail price for the drone alone of £719.99, with a Hero 5 Black included it will be £999.99, this price is relatively competitive especially considering GoPro include a hand held stabiliser attachment and a back pack. DJI has added a trademark for D-RTK which the name suggests is a DJI implementation of a Real Time Kinematic (RTK) Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS), such systems provide centimeter level accuracy, using either GPS, Glonass or other satellite systems whilst using a second mobile receiver. The first reviews for DJI’s new Phantom 4 have been positive overall. It has been noted the object avoidance won’t necessarily see thin objects like wires or branches and that the tracking can lose its subject; for most people these are relatively small niggles but potential buyers should be aware the new features are not fool proof. DJI today announced the Phantom 4, which everyone was expecting, especially with the usual SB-DJI photo leaks.
